Los Angeles, Nov 25 : Hollywood star Hugh Jackman has shared that he will never say he is never playing Wolverine again.

Jackman announced he was done playing the iconic X-Men superhero after 2017â??s â??Loganâ?? which ended with the characterâ??s death. But Jackman wasnâ??t being truthful, reports â??Varietyâ??.

He returned as Wolverine seven years later in the 2024 Marvel blockbuster â??Deadpool and Wolverineâ??.

He recently appeared on â??The Graham Norton Showâ??, where he said, â??Every time youâ??re on (talk show), you gotta go, â??Nope, Iâ??m not doing that againâ??. But then you keep making another one. And itâ??s a big big hit. So are you gonna have to do it again? Maybe. I am never saying â??neverâ?? ever again. But I did mean it when I said â??neverâ?? (the first time), until the day when I changed my mind. But I really did for quite a few years, I meant itâ??.

As per â??Varietyâ??, during last yearâ??s â??Deadpool and Wolverineâ?? press tour, Jackman admitted that his feelings about staying in retirement from Wolverine were complicated after he saw the first â??Deadpoolâ?? movie.

â??I was like, â??Those two characters togetherâ??. I knew it. I knew the fans wanted it ever since I put on the claws, people talked about these two. So, that had always been there, but I just knewâ??, he told Fandango. â??I rang Ryan (Reynolds). And I just said, â??Letâ??s do itâ??. Like, I hadnâ??t rung my agent, no one. I had to ring my agent and said, â??Oh, by the way, I have just committed to a movieâ??â??.

But not everyone was initially sold on the idea of him coming back as Wolverine. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed to Empire that he originally warned the actor against playing Wolverine again.

â??I said, â??Let me give you a piece of advice, Hugh. Donâ??t come backâ??â??, Feige said. â??â??You had the greatest ending in history with â??Loganâ??. Thatâ??s not something we should undoâ??â??.

As Marvel movie fans eventually found out in â??Deadpool and Wolverineâ??, the actor did not return as the iteration of Wolverine he played for decades and hung up in â??Loganâ??. Marvelâ??s multiverse allowed the actor to play a new variant of Wolverine.
