Gurugram, Oct 14 : More contractors from different parts of the country assembled in Gurugram on Wednesday and levelled allegations of cheating and fraud against independent Haryana MLA Balraj Kundu and his construction company.
A city-based resident Parivartan Singh had filed a complaint of cheating and fraud over non-payment of Rs 14 crore for construction of a road in Madhya Pradesh against the MLA, his brother and two of their company officials. The Gurugram Police had registered a case on Saturday.
Singh in the complainant had alleged that after the agreement with the MLA's company KCC Buildcon they started work on September 26, 2017 and till September 2020, his company has completed only about 55 per cent of the work and he sent bills worth Rs 41 crore to the company.
It is alleged that out of this, the complainant received payment of only Rs 27 crore and he is yet to receive Rs 14 crore in pending dues from the MLA.
"Despite repeated reminders and emails no payment was made. When I visited their office in Gurugram for the payment they threatened me with dire consequences," alleged Parivartan Singh.
Sanjay Kumar Jain, who had also worked with Kundu's company, said they were cheated and threatened by the MLA.
"We had visited multiple agencies on our concerns and also made several complaints but did not get satisfactory answers," Jain said who has yet to receive Rs 75 lakh from Kundu.
Another contractor Devender Singh Gurjjar from Gwalior said Kundu owes him Rs 4.5 crore.
Kundu's company and its employees are facing similar cases in Madhya Pradesh and Rohtak. He said many people have to recover pending dues from Kundu and his company.
Meanwhile Kundu said he will soon come in Gurugram to clear the matter. "This matter is all politically motivated. I will give full corporation to the probe agencies," he said.
