BHAKT MAHIMA
Shri Ram concludes his transcendent discourse (Shri Ram Geeta) in Shri Ramcharitmanas (3.16), delineating the emotional state and attributes of a bhakt (devotee), like Shri Krishna has outlined the attributes of a man of steady wisdom (sthita pragya) in Gita (2.55-58).

"A thrill runs through him as he sings My praises; his voice gets choked, and tears flow incessantly. He is free from lust, pride, hypocrisy and other vices. I am ever there for such a devotee. I ever repose in the lotus heart of those who worship me selflessly and depend on Me in thought, word and deed".
Lakshman had requested Shri Ram to explain the bhakti that leads to HIS grace. Shri Ram epitomises that bhakti is the purest form of love, the intense longing of the heart to merge with the Divine. However, the intensity of this love should be able to drain out all the inner vices of the bhakt through the tears of devotion for HIM, purifying the bhakt's inner self and freeing him from desire. The power of such bhakti is that HE then ever rests in this bhakt's heart, making it HIS permanent abode.
Highlighting the bhakt's mahima (grandeur), Shri Ram reiterates HIS emotional connection, declaring emphatically that he is always there for a bhakt who is ananyagati, i.e., having sole dependence and unwavering devotion to HIM without another refuge. This is reminiscent of Shri Krishna's assurance in Gita (18.6566). Indeed, bhakti is the key that unlocks the doors of HIS grace.
While other spiritual practices are individual-centric, bhakti in its various forms (Satsang, Katha, Kirtan, etc.) is practised collectively. Bhakti is contagious. It is the music whose vibrations can initiate music in another through resonance, and a bhakt is that virtuoso musician who can accomplish this. / DAILY WORLD /
