DW BUREAU / CHANDIGARH In order to facilitate its stakeholders, the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has added a new initiative to its list of recent initiatives to provide the NIRBADH services. Under this new initiative called "PRAYAAS", the pension papers of a retiring EPS member will be ready before the day of his retirement and Pension Payment Order (PPO) will be handed over to him on the day of retirement. 'PRAYAAS' will be a big change for retiring employees as it usually takes months for an employee to get an arranged pension after retiring. 'PRAYAAS' saw its successful implementation on 30th September, 2020 in Regional Office , Chandigarh where Shiv Nandan Goel, GM, Punjab State Cooperative Bank and Sh. Arminder Singh of The Tribune were handed over their PPOs by C.S. Sanjay Misra, Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner, Zonal Office (Punjab and Himachal Pradesh). Pramod Singh, Regional PF Commissioner -I, Officer-in-Charge of Regional Office, Chandigarh also present during the felicitation informed that this would a regular event every month for the pensioners of Chandigarh EPFO office and he solicited the cooperation of employers to ensure more members get benefited in future. He further informed that to have a better reach, this facility will also be extended from the districts offices of RO, Chandigarh. (editor@dailyworld.in)
