Amritsar: Punjab Chief Minister
Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday announced to give impetus to
industrialisation in the border districts of the state.
Interacting with the industrialists during the maiden Sarkar Sannatkar
milni, the Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to
ensure the holistic development of the industry in-the border region. He
said that the process of border identification will be streamlined soon in
the state by incorporating the necessary changes. Bhagwant Singh Mann said
that this will help in giving major fillip to the industry in the state
especially in the border region.
At the very outset of the milni led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann
and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal the gathering observed two minutes
silence in the memory Colonel Manpreet Singh and other Jawans who attained
martyrdom in terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that during the run up for the elections
they had promised certain guarantees to the industrialists. He said that
now after 18 months of formation of the government they are here to list
the achievements in various sectors. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no stone
will be left unturned for facilitating the industry in state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government will ensure judicious use
of canal water for the industrial units on the lines of water being
provided to the farmers for agriculture purposes. Bhagwant Singh Mann said
that this will facilitate the industry in its smooth working and
facilitation.
The Chief Minister said that the policies for the industry will be framed
as per the need of industrialists and to facilitate them. He said that
whatever the industry will demand from the state government will be
delivered at the earliest to facilitate the industry. Bhagwant Singh Mann
said that this also the need of hour to boost economic activity in the
region.
The Chief Minister also announced to set up a dedicated force to facilitate
the tourists coming in district on every day. He said that Amritsar
witnesses a footfall of around one lakh pilgrims daily and special force is
required to cater to their needs. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this
dedicated unit of the Punjab Police will have separate uniform and dress
code so that they can be identified easily.
The Chief Minister also announced to embark e bus shuttle service in the
sacred city in the coming days. He said that this will help in reducing the
pollution level in the city and thereby facilitating the pilgrims and
residents in a big way. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is the need of
hour for further developing Amritsar as hub of tourism.
The Chief Minister also said that the state government is all set to
introduce Artificial Intelligence in Police and traffic management. He
said that this will help in enhancing the efficiency of Punjab Police on
scientific lines for the welfare of people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that
every step will be taken for the well being of the people coming to this
district.
The Chief Minister said that industrialists trust a government only when
they get corruption free system, crime free environment, law and order. He
said that government payback benefits of their taxes money to them and use
them judiciously for well being of society. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that
Law and order situation matters as the Industrialists will not move to
violent hit places but they are showing trust in Punjab government and
number of industries are coming to state.
The Chief Minister said that due to concerted efforts of the state
government investment worth Rs 50840 crore has been roped in for the state.
He said that Tata Steels has made biggest investment in the state after
Jamshedpur adding that other companies like Jindal Steel, Virbio, Class,
Tafe, Hindustan Liver and others are making investment in state. Bhagwant
Singh Mann said that with this 2.25 lakh youth will get employment in the
state.
The Chief Minister announced to set up celebration point at Amritsar over
an area of 50-100 acre. He said that banquet halls for celebrating various
events of happiness will be constructed in this celebration point. Bhagwant
Singh Mann said that this first of its kind celebration point will be
instrumental in boosting tourism in state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has recently organised
tourism summit in the state. He said that it is matter of great pride and
satisfaction that investors have shown their desire to invest around Rs
