Bihar job aspirants obtain domicile certificates on basis of fake documents from West Champaran

Patna, Sep13 : In a bid to obtain teachers' jobs in Bihar, some aspirants have been found to have taken fake domicile certificates to get the benefits of reservation, officials said. Two cases of such fraud were reported from Bagaha sub division of West Champaran district when Jay Prakash Verma and his brother Anil Verma obtained domicile certificate from Bhutiharwa Panchayat under Bhitaha block and appeared in the teachers recruitment examination to get the benefits of reservation. The Bihar government had allowed aspirants from other states to participate in the teachers recruitment examination but they would be treated as general category. On the other hand, residents of Bihar would get the benefits as per their castes and gender. Such a discovery was unearthed after some residents of Bhutiharwa Panchayat moved an application before the West Champaran District Magistrate, who appointed Bagaha SDM to investigate the matter and submit a report. The complainant alleged that the BLO and a circle officer of Bhitaha were involved in the negligence or possible corruption as they had issued the certificate without cross checking the facts. "Jay Prakash Verma and his brother Anil Verma are the native of Dudhahi in neighbouring Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh but they have obtained the domicile certificates from Bhitiharwa Panchayat despite not having any house or land here. It is hard to see how the district administration has issued the certificates to them,??? said Rajkumar Yadav, one of the complainants and native of Bhutiharwa Panchayat. Contacted for a response, Bhitaha block circle officer Abu Afsar said: "The documentation process takes place online and hence there is no question of any fake certificate getting issued. Still, we will check if any negligence happened in this matter." /IANS
