World Cancer Day was observed in Samrala

The event was aimed at spreading the awareness and understanding about the deadly decease. Speaking on the occasion Dr Tarikjot Singh SMO said that the cancer is number two disease in the world, which causes so many deaths world over. Its early detection and proper treatment can save life. The cancer affect any organ of the body may it be chest, mouth, head, stomach and throat. Oral cancer is spreading fast in the world he said. Oral cancer is serious health concern that requires prompt attention. He said most cancer patients seek treatment when the disease reached in its advanced stage. He said the main reasons of the oral cancer are tobacco, drinking habits and cigarettes smoking in our country. The main symptoms of the cancer are tumor in any part of the body, blood in cough, pain in chest, tumor in the mouth, sudden weight loss and excessive water in the stomach. Dr Tarikjot Singh said in some cases it travels one generation to other. He said cancer is covered under the government s Ayushman scheme. Even if one does not possess Ayushman card, the government provides Rs 1.5 lakh as a help to the cancer patients. (editor dailyworld.in)
