category Regional, chandigarh, , tags Regional, chandigarh, , DW BUREAU Chandigarh Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said governments following majoritarian principles were not in tune with the philosophy of Guru Ravidas Ji who preached equality for all. The SAD President made these remarks during an interaction with Dera Sachkhand Ballan head Sant Niranjan Das ji after paying obeisance at the Janam Asthan of Guru Ravidass Ji here. A joint SAD - BSP delegation led by Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal and BSP Punjab unit president Jasvir Singh Garhi visited the Janam Asthan on the eve of birth anniversary celebrations of the Guru. Sukhbir Badal said Guru Ravidas ji s philosophy was as relevant today as it was more than 500 years back and was much needed in today s times. He also explained how the Sikh religion as well as the Shiromani Akali Dal also followed the philosophy of Guru Ravidas Ji, which was also included in Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Like the great Guru, Sikhism does not give importance to self but to mankind. Similarly, the SAD has always stood for quality and social justice in the real sense of the word . Referring to the long association of former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal with Dera Ballan, the SAD president said Badal Sahab believed in giving due respect to all religions. Accordingly he personally ensured sacred occasions of all religions were commemorated by the state. He also beautified all religious places be it the Bhagwan Valmiki shrine or Guru Ravidas Asthan at Khuralgarh. The philosophy behind this was to insure Sarbat da Bhala . Badal met and interacted with a large number of pilgrims from Punjab who are here to pay obeisance at the Janam Sthan. He also partook of langar. The delegation members included SAD MLA Dr Sukhwinder Sukhi, Pawan Kumar Tinu, Baldev Khaira, Gurpartap Wadala, Kabir dass, BSP MLA from Nawanshehar Nachhatar Pal, Avtar Singh Karimpuri, Gurlal Saila Ajit Singh Bhaini.
