Security tightened across Haryana

While giving this information here today, the Director General of Police (DGP) Haryana, Sh. P.K. Agrawal said that all the Commissioners of Police and district Superintendents of Police have been directed to ensure elaborate security cover on January 26 at all important venues for celebrations and flag-hoisting. All the roads leading towards celebration venues are being monitored with the strengthening of nakas and surprise checking. Further, additional forces have been deployed to deal with any untoward incident. The police officers have also been directed for making smooth traffic arrangements during the Republic Day celebrations, particularly routes leading to venues of functions, he added. Police personnel are keeping close vigil in sensitive locations to maintain law and order ahead of the Republic Day celebrations. At the same time, security forces are also keeping a close eye on unclaimed vehicles, articles as well as suspicious persons. Apart from conducting patrolling and checking at all vital points, special checking drive of trains and public transport is also being carried out across the state. ADGP reviews security preparedness Ludhiana The Additional Director General of Police (security) Punjab, Sudhanshu S. Srivastava on Tuesday took stock of security preparedness ahead of 74th Republic day celebrations and directed the officials to beef up safety measures in the city, especially at all vulnerable places. While visiting some of the key locations of Ludhiana, the ADGP reiterated the firm commitment of the Punjab Police to maintain law at every cost and said that the sole aim of inspecting the arrangements was to make the security system more responsive and efficient.
