Desh Bhagat varsity implements NEP-2020

Desh Bhagat University is the first private university in Punjab to implement the New Education Policy-2020 initiated by the Union Government.
President of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Sandeep Singh, and Dr Harsh Sadawarti, vice-president, stating this at a press conference at Khanna, near here, yesterday also gave details about the university's proposal, execution, and upcoming initiatives related to the New Education Policy-2020.
Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice-President, said that the Desh Bhagat University has excelled in the areas of education, innovation, and entrepreneurship for many years. To give students greater exposure, the university has also inked MOUs and made collaborations with other national and international institutes and universities.
He said the university has also introduced multiple-exit options for students who want to go abroad. "We have implemented the NEP to promote all-round development of students in both academic and non-academic spheres," he added.
Dr. Sandeep Singh said that the university had launched IELTS Plus (a Pilot Project of DBU under NEP-2020). He further said that, in accordance with this, the institution has started a 4-year, multi-disciplinary bachelor's degree programme for undergraduates with a variety of exit possibilities. This covers both the professional and vocational spheres. However, a 4-year multidisciplinary Bachelor's degree must be the preferable option. Other options include a certificate after completing one year of study; a diploma after completing two years of study; and a Bachelor's degree after finishing a 3-year programme, he said.
Dr. Sandeep Singh said that the Desh Bhagat University has also provided job placements through job fairs and campus recruitment to a large number of students.
Dr. Sandeep Singh said that the aim of the Desh Bhagat University is not only to educate the students but also to provide them with the best opportunities so that they can have a secure future.
