Municipalities should send proposals in three months

DW BUREAU / Chandigarh Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Kamal Gupta said that the Municipalities should send proposals in three months, on which work will be completed in the next three months. Dr. Gupta was responding to a question during Question Hour on the second day of the Monsoon Session of Haryana here today. He informed that the layout plans of about 2,176 colonies have been received from the Town and Country Planning Department which have also been forwarded to the concerned municipalities for taking further necessary action as per the Act and norms. He informed that the action to notify the colonies under the 'Haryana Management of Municipal Areas Lacking Civil Amenities and Infrastructure (Special Provisions) Act 2016' after receipt of resolution from the concerned municipal body and if the colony fulfills the criteria laid down for notification has been done. He said that so far 212 colonies have been passed in 11 municipalities. Municipalities are also verifying the layout plan of such colonies as per norms. Recently, four municipalities have submitted their reports on 22 colonies to the department. He also apprised the House that the Haryana Management of Municipal Areas Lacking Civil Amenities and Infrastructure (Special Provisions) Act, 2016 has been amended on September 10, 2021. According to the amendment, the condition of having construction work on the first 50 percent and 75 percent of the plots in the new colony has been removed. Further, all the colonies have been divided into category wise groups, which include colonies with built up area up to 25 percent, between 25 and 50 percent, between 50 and 75 percent and colonies with more than 75 percent built up area.
