Dr Vijay Singla directs to draft policy for providing affordable health services

Punjab Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research Minister Dr. Vijay Singla, on Tuesday, directed the health department officials to draft a policy focusing affordable health services to the residents of the state.
Today, chairing a high-level meeting at Punjab Bhawan Chandigarh, Dr Vijay Singla said that Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government is committed to provide quality and affordable health services to the people. He said that it was also the part of the guarantees of their party which were promised with the people of Punjab before the assembly elections.
During the meeting, the issue of fixing the rates of main services being provided by the hospitals was reviewed. Apart from this, fixation of rates for remaining health services was also discussed.
The Health Minister said that 'One Punjab One Price in Health Care' should be taken care while formation of a policy to provide affordable healthcare services. He further added that while fixing rates of healthcare services, city and capacity of hospitals should also be considered.
While directing to give further impetus to Ayurveda and Homoeopathy, Dr. Singla also asked officials to develop an App for price of medicines and alternative medicines so that people can get accurate information.
In the meeting, Rajya Sabha member Mr. Sanjeev Arora, Principal Secretary Medical Education and Research Mr. Hussan Lal, Secretary Health and Family Welfare Mr. Ajoy Sharma, MD Punjab Health System Corporation Ms. Nilima, MD NHM Mr. Tej Partap Singh Phoolka, Director Medical Education and Research Dr. Avnish Kumar and Director Health and Family Welfare Dr. GB Singh were also present.
inaugurates fully automatic BP monitor at Punjab Civil Secretariat
Dr. Vijay Singla, on Tuesday, inaugurated fully automatic Arm In B.P. monitor at Ayurvedic Dispensary, Punjab Civil Secretariat-1, Chandigarh.
Dr. Singla said that Punjab Government has installed these modern Arm In B.P. monitors in all district and sub divisional hospitals in the state. In this series, on World Hypertension Day today these fully automatic BP monitoring machines have been inaugurated at Punjab Civil Secretariat-1 & 2 and Directorate of Punjab Health and Family Welfare Department here.
Secretariat employees union also thanked Mr Vijay Singla for this noble initiative and and urged the minister to fill the post of medical officer lying vacant at Punjab Civil Secretariat-1. The minister assured that the post would be filled within a week.
