DW BUREAU / Chandigarh Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Sh. Banwarilal Purohit on Thursday released a book titled "Gita Aacharan, A Practitioner's Perspective" authored by senior IAS officer K. Siva Prasad. Releasing the book, the Governor appreciated the initiative taken by the 1993-batch Punjab Cadre officer, Prasad and said "any and all literature guiding humanity towards the path attaining ultimate freedom, moksha is a service par excellence". Interpretation of teachings of the Bhagavad Gita in the contemporary perspective coming from a bureaucrat's pen is an indication that our officers are fully alive to 'inner growth' as to the outer, he said. According to the author, the book is the Bhagavad Gita is both eternal and comprehensive. In the constantly changing physical world, an interpretation is needed from time to time to understand these teachings in the modern-day perspective. 'Gita Aacharan' is an effort in this direction. This compilation is an attempt to make the Bhagavad Gita easy to understand with a contemporary scientific perspective. Once one is aware of them and puts them into practice then joy comes in every aspect of life. This book is a compilation of weekly articles on the Bhagavad Gita published in the Daily World newspaper. (editor@dailyworld.in)
