DW Bureau | Chandigarh, August 19, 2026: Dev Samaj College for Women (DSCW), Sector 45-B, Chandigarh, felicitated its BA student and boxer Priyanka for winning the silver medal in the +80 kg category at the U-23 Women’s Asian Boxing Championship 2026, held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Representing India, Priyanka put up a strong performance throughout the championship to secure the silver medal at the international event.

To honour her achievement, the college organised a felicitation ceremony on the campus. College Chairperson Prof. (Dr.) Agnese Dhillon, Secretary Maanvinder Singh Mangat, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Neeru Malik and College Advisor Dr. Jaspal Kaur congratulated Priyanka and felicitated her with a bouquet and garland.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Agnese Dhillon praised Priyanka for bringing laurels to the institution through her international sporting achievement. She encouraged students to pursue excellence in both academics and sports with equal dedication and determination.

Dr. Surinder Kaur, Head of the Department of Physical Education, and Dr. Shiva Malik, Head of the Department of Commerce, along with faculty members, staff and students, were also present. They congratulated Priyanka on her achievement and wished her continued success in her sporting career.
