Delhi fog disrupts flights in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: Heavy fog in New Delhi and hazy conditions in Chandigarh on Thursday forced many flights to be cancelled and delayed, causing a lot of inconvenience to passengers.

As many as three flights were cancelled and two flights were delayed in their arrival at Chandigarh airport on Thursday. Officials at the airport said that Jet Airways cancelled three of their flights, two from New Delhi and one from Jaipur, from their origin points. Consequently, the return flights of these airlines were also cancelled.An official shared that apart from the cancellations, a New Delhi-Chandigarh Air India flight was delayed by one hour and 11 minutes, while a Mumbai-Chandigarh GoAir flight was late by 22 minutes in its arrival time.

Departures from Chandigarh airport were also far from smooth as a Chandigarh-New Delhi SpiceJet flight was late by 19 minutes, a Chandigarh-Mumbai GoAir flight was delayed by 25 minutes, a Chandigarh-New Delhi Air India flight was held up by one hour and 33 minutes, a Chandigarh-Mumbai Indigo flight was late by 41 minutes, while another Chandigarh-Mumbai Indigo flight was delayed by 26 minutes.
