Finally, itÔÇÖs official. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) will contest four seats during the December 4 Vidhan Sabha elections in Delhi. This was announced by the party president Sukhbir Singh Badal at Dhippanwali village in Fazilka on Wednesday.

He said after much deliberations the SAD has finalised the seat sharing arrangement with its alliance partner Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and as per the consensus reached between both the alliance partners, the BJP will support SAD on four seats and in return the SAD will not field its candidates on rest 66 seats.

The SAD will field its candidates on Harinagar, Rajouri Garden, Shardra and Kalkaji Assembly seats, disclosed Sukhbir, without revealing the names of the candidates, which he said were yet to be finalised.

He hoped that the SAD would win all four seats as after the thumping victory in the recently held Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee polls, the SAD-BJP combine was all set to wrest control over the Delhi government.

On being asked about the preparations for ensuing Lok Sabha polls, the SAD chief said the SAD-BJP combine was fully geared up for polls and Congress would be wiped out from the political scene of Punjab after the polls.

Describing the Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh as a semi-final to the Lok Sabha polls, the Deputy Chief Minister said the voters of the country were eagerly waiting to teach a lesson to the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, which he termed as ÔÇ£most corrupt and inefficientÔÇØ. ÔÇ£The results of these polls would set the stage for the formation of NDA government at Centre,ÔÇØ hoped Sukhbir.
