Amit Sharma / Chandigarh :
Sacked Punjab Police Inspector and former CAT Gurmit Singh Pinky has raised another storm by leveling series allegations of omission and commission and misuse of official position by some top Punjab Police officers, including DGP, IG, DIG and SSP rank officers and also senior bureaucrats posted in the Punjab Civil Secretariat.
In a 9-page complaint filed before the Chandigarh police, a copy of which is with Daily World, Pinky has demanded high-level inquiry against one of the notorious wheeler-dealer Aman Skoda and registration of a criminal case against Skoda and the ÔÇ£guilty personsÔÇØ for cheating him worth Rs 50 lakh. Skoda could not be contacted for comments.
Giving a detailed account, Pinky has named several top officers and also a politician, who, he considered, were instrumental in getting him reinstated using their influence. The former CAT has claimed that he paid a total of Rs 50 lakh to get the reinstatement orders issued. However, his reinstatement orders were later revoked by the Punjab DGP and the DIG who passed the orders was shifted from Ludhiana.
Pinky has also named two lady IPS officers who were reportedly in close contact of Aman Skoda, a wheeler-dealer who has already been facing a dozen of criminal cases in different parts of Punjab.
Quoting several bizarre instances of SkodaÔÇÖs influence over top Punjab police officers, Pinky has claimed that while he was sitting with Skoda, he heard the latter talking to a police commissioner on telephone several times and the Commissioner asking Skoda to find a way that he should be transferred from the commissionerate. The same IPS officer once came in his official Innova car to the residence of Skoda in Sector 28 in connection with his work. Pinky claims that he was present at SkodaÔÇÖs house when the said police commissioner waited in his car outside for about one hour. ÔÇ£The applicant (Pinky) asked Aman Skoda that you have called him and meet him. At this, Aman Skoda told that let him wait (sic),ÔÇØ reads the complaint.
Pinky has also mentioned in his complaint that while moving around with Skoda, he also got the impression that a senior officer in the Punjab intelligence was in constant touch with Skoda and passing him information from time to time.
