Punjab Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal attending Prakash Purb celebrations in Dubai on Friday

The Nanak Naam Leva Sangat of Dubai held a religious function at Gurudwara Guru Nanak Durbar in Dubai in commemoration of the 550th prakash purb of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Technical Education and Employment Generation Minister, Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi also made an appearance at the function.

In his address, the minister said that in keeping with the philosophy of Guru Sahib based on Universal Peace and Amity, People from all religions are celebrating 550th prakash purb with zeal and enthusiasm. He also added that events in connection with the celebrations would be held for the whole year by the Punjab Government. Channi also announced that the State Government would initiate ‘Punjabi Saptah’ on the occasion of World Mother Tongue Day which falls on 21st of February. National and International level seminars as well as musical programmes would be held on the occasion. The minister invited the NRI Punjabis to be a part of the functions proposed to be held during the Punjabi Saptah and contribute in spreading Punjabi Language far and wide. On the occasion, Jathedar, Takht Sri Patna Sahib Jathedar Ranjit Singh and SGPC President Gobind Singh Longowal were also present.
