Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, VP Singh Badnore, on Wednesday unveiled the book, “The gypsy trail ? travels and travails of an Army Wife”, authored by Lily Swarn wife of a retired Col SS Swarn at Punjab Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh.
Talking about the book, the author said the book was a humble attempt to acquaint the readers with the fascinating life of army and that of the army wives in particular. It is the recollection of a dreamy eyed young bride, Mili, plunged
straight into the exciting, adventurous and unpredictable world of the services. From far flung remote cantonments to small towns with forgotten history ? she traverses the vast landscape of India enriching her life experiences.
The Governor, while appreciating the author’s third book, termed it an amazing book with a clear description of the most fascinating towns and cities across the Country. “The author has vividly covered the arduous as well as the pleasure life of an army officer,” he commented.
Also present on the occasion were Gen (Retd) Rambir Singh Mann, Gen (Retd) Bhupinder Singh, Colonel (Retd) Manbir Hundal, Vandana Chadha, Brig (Retd) IPS Brar, Col (Retd) Atwal, Col (Retd) SS Swaran, Dr Bachittar Singh and Inderjit Kaur.
